Riverside Route and Camiño Miñoto Trail

A Arnoia’s flagship route: it follows the Miño and takes in the Camiño Miñoto-Ribeiro, the pilgrim way to Santiago that passes right in front of the house.

It’s the route that starts from our doorstep. It runs alongside the River Miño along the riverside promenade, crosses the Ponte de Caneirón, climbs up to the hamlets of Covelo and Meréns and links up with the historic Camiño Miñoto-Ribeiro, the wine pilgrim route that crosses A Arnoia on its way to Santiago. Along the way you’ll find the Área Recreativa das Poldras —a river beach and picnic area on the banks of the Miño—, churches, cruceiros, souls’ shrines (petos de ánimas) and fountain-washhouses that tell the story of village life beside the water.

A circular route of 15.21 km and moderate difficulty that sums up in a single day the three souls of A Arnoia: the river, the vineyard and the stone.
