If O Ribeiro has a queen, it is treixadura. This native white grape yields aromatic, fine and elegant wines, with notes of fruit, flowers and subtle balsamic touches that define the denomination’s character. It rarely travels alone: the great whites of O Ribeiro are usually coupages, blends in which treixadura converses with varieties such as godello, loureira or albariño, gaining complexity and freshness.

The denomination also cherishes its reds, made with varieties such as caíño or brancellao, lesser known but deeply tied to the region’s identity. To taste these wines at their very source, with the person who made them explaining the vintage and the soil, is an experience no distant restaurant can match.
