Declared a Festival of National Tourist Interest, it transforms Ribadavia’s old quarter into a medieval town. It recreates the Jewish quarter that in the 14th century came to house much of the population, with a period market, Jewish weddings, knights’ tournaments, falconry, archery and living chess.
An unforgettable detail: to buy and eat, you must exchange your euros for maravedís, the currency of the era, at the town council’s exchange tables. The day culminates in a grand medieval banquet on the grounds of the Sarmiento castle. One of the most spectacular historical re-enactments in Galicia.
